Book Club

Our book club, called Club Legion, allows a group of people to meet together and discuss a book or books that they have read. Club Legion meets on a monthly basis in Ready Aim Read and discusses the British Military Book that we have been reading over the past month.

In Club Legion people express their opinions, likes, dislikes, about the book. Often we read passages from the book, and encourage discussion thereafter. We have a cup of English tea or a coffee with some scones, or if you fancy a glass of vintage we can cater for that too. Currently, Club Legion stands at 800 members and is led by Lord Ellis Austen-Renwick. Special guests, including authors, former soldiers and military members have been invited to read at our events. This usually draws an even bigger gathering of military book enthusiasts.

A new British Military Book is selected for the group to read and discuss each month. Check out the list below to see what Club Legion have been reading and what is coming up for the months ahead.

To the staff at Ready Aim Read,
I would like to take this opportunity to commend you on your Book Club and the recital of the Sword of Honour Trilogy. It is quite simply a fantastic piece of writing by the wonderful Evelyn Waugh. The Book Club meeting last Thursday, I must say it was a wonderful experience, which I, and my companions thoroughly enjoyed.

    We will be back.
